Impostor syndrome: a limiting belief about ourselves.
When you feel that, even though the evidence points to the opposite, you are inadequate or incompetent, that is the Impostor Syndrome belief coming out and stopping you from achieving your goals.
Why are so many people affected by this belief? It really starts with a lack of confidence in your abilities to do a job that may be a stretch for you right now, or on the other extreme, you may think that the job is so easy that anyone can do it so you are nothing special.
When you analyze why you feel this way you can begin to remove the Impostor Syndrome feeling and start to accept that you are capable and very effective in that position or role.
