When you actually take the fist step of going after your life changing goal you will experience the most exhilarating feelings, or the most terrifying.

Life changes are exciting but when the excitement wears off, that is when you start to second guess yourself. Your inner voice starts to let you know that you aren’t as talented as you think you are and tries to convince you that you are going to fail because your work isn’t good enough.

This negative thinking and conversation whether internal or what we hear from others can grow into a very high level of self-doubt. This can happen as soon as you make your decision or it can just sit under the surface waiting to rise up at any point along your journey.

If you don’t stop this initial whisper of doubt in yourself, it can grow into a fear that in turn manifestos itself as total dread. You start to believe that you were really crazy to think that you could really do the change you want in the first place and you start to think about giving up.

You are having a crisis of confidence. If you want to achieve your dreams and separate yourself from those who give up and settle for a mediocre life, you need to handle this crisis correctly.

There are many actions you can take in your life to assist you in overcoming this crisis. Most of them involve not letting your fears take over and address them through various methods. You can also look at your relationships and remove those non-supporting people from your life and replace them with a great support systems. But mostly, it is up to you to not lose focus on your goals and continue to move toward them.

While these steps and activities are easy to list here, actually getting yourself to do them can be difficult. When your confidence is in crisis, you may need to get outside help that can see the big picture and guide you to taking and maintaining the necessary steps to rebuilding your confidence level and moving you forward on achieving your goals.
